TPC Louisiana
7,425 Yards - Par 72 - Greens Bermuda
It is a tricky week for us at the Zurich Classic, as eighty teams will be vying to make the weekend at TPC Louisiana. It is worth noting that the top-33 and ties will get to tee it up on Saturday and Sunday, and play will be split between a best-ball format on Thursday/Saturday and an alternate shot structure on Friday/Sunday.
While data isn't as easy to come by as a regular stop, I did pre-plug some "team totals" on my DFS Rankings Wizard model. There you will get a better understanding of what I found to be necessary to succeed, but there are many different ways for you to do your research in New Orleans.
If you are trying to break this down from a statistical perspective, 29 percent of second shots came from over 200 yards when this was played as a solo event, and the ability to ball-strike was an essential component for golfers that found success. All in all, this will provide a unique strategy when constructing DFS lineups, and it is critical to note that no single approach should be considered incorrect during an uncommon test.
Let's Look At The Stats
Stat | TPC Louisiana | PGA Average |
Driving Distance | 276 | 283 |
Driving Accuracy | 63% | 61% |
GIR Percentage | 66% | 65% |
Scrambling Percentage | 60% | 57% |
Average Three-Putts Per Round | 0.33 | 0.55 |
Key Stats
Let's quickly run through how I built my model.
Weighted Team Tee-To-Green (40%)
Weighted Team Putting (12.5%)
Team Pete Dye (10%)
Team TPC (12.5%)
Weighted Team Birdie or Better (25%)
I will dive deeper into what went into these totals later in the week on my podcast. If you aren't doing so already, you can follow Bettor Golf Podcast on Twitter.
Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)
We have tons of great weekly PGA articles, DFS analysis, tools and DFS advice. Be sure to read our other fantastic articles regarding this week's event.
High-Priced DraftKings DFS Players
***There are five players priced above $10,000. Please remember that my DFS article is always a first look at the field. Opinions might shift as the week goes on, and I am more than happy to discuss anyone further on Twitter.
For a volatile event, we have a very standard top-of-the-board with pricing. Schauffele/Cantlay grabbed the number one slot at $11,100. As you might expect, my model couldn't find much that it disliked with the duo. Their first-place grade in weighted tee-to-green and weighted birdie or better will go a long way.
Homa/Morikawa also possessed some high-end qualities, grading first in this field for weighted proximity. It will be interesting to see how the two combine to overcome some of their weaknesses, but that good versus bad merger of qualities can sometimes pay dividends.
And then, we have the tandems of Im/Mitchell and Theegala/Suh. I am not necessarily sure how much exposure I want to take on for this event, but it is hard to ignore one of only three teams that graded inside the top 15 for off-the-tee, approach, around-the-green and putting for their "team total." For reference sake, the other two were Cantlay/Schauffele and Kitayama/Montgomery.

Mid-Priced DraftKings DFS Players
$9,000 Range
Kurt Kitayama/Taylor Montgomery $9,100
The current form lowered the rank for Kitayama/Montgomery marginally, but how could I call myself an alumnus of UNLV and not take the two when trying to construct a lineup? Kitayama/Montgomery incorporate a highly intriguing skillset combination that could allow Kitayama to use his proximity and Montgomery to use his putter, making them a real threat to take home this title.
Mid-Priced DraftKings DFS Players
$8,000 Range
I tend to think there is a lot of value in this $8,000 section. Teams like McCarthy/Dahmen, Hoge/English, Moore/NeSmith, Hardy/Riley, Hadwin/Taylor and Kizzire/Todd all look to be in play.
Low-Priced DraftKings DFS Players To Consider ($7,000+)
Akshay Bhatia/Harry Hall $7,600
Similar to my answer for Kitayama/Montgomery, Bhatia/Hall can generate that same proximity (Bhatia) and putting combination (Hall). The metrics are volatile for the pair, but they might be able to go wild in four-ball play because of their fourth-place rank in weighted team birdie or better percentage.
Sub-$6,000 Options To Consider
I don't think we need to go down there if we don't have to this week. There are a few top 40 options in my model, but the list gets shaky fast.
