Top Hitter Streamers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 4

Trevor Larnach - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB News

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 4 Hitters of the 2023 season to add from the waiver wire and stream. Brad analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up.

Hey, RotoBallers! We are halfway through April, and Week 4 of the MLB season is already here. Offenses are heating up along with the weather, and we are looking at the top hitter streamers and starts for fantasy baseball Week 4 - April 17 through April 23. For those new to this series, each week, our fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered as waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

Fantasy teams are built through the draft, but some can argue leagues are won through in-season management. Last week I recommended Garrett Mitchell, Logan O'Hoppe, Alec Burleson, and Adam Frazier. Some of the recommended hitters from last week's article provided solid fantasy production in Week 4. Today we will review potential hitters to stream in Week 4. Let's see which hitters made the list this week.

We look into some hitters playing in the most games and have favorable matchups to help you get off to a fast start early in the year. As always, check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamers content after you read this piece!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

12 teams play seven games between Monday, April 17th, and Sunday, April 23rd. Those teams are:

  • Diamondbacks
  • Red Sox
  • Cubs
  • Reds
  • Rockies
  • Angels
  • Dodgers
  • Mets
  • Phillies
  • Pirates
  • Padres
  • Giants

There is plenty to like between these 12 lineups for fantasy purposes, and the Pirates will have three games in hitter-friendly Coors Field. The Angels have seven games with plus matchups against the Red Sox, Yankees, and Royals. Yankees southpaw Nestor Cortes presents the Angels' toughest matchup in Week 4. The Dodgers, Pirates, and Rockies have a solid schedule, and there should be plenty of options to stream among these 12 teams.

We have some games in the most hitter-friendly ballparks, Coors Field, Great American Ballpark, Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, and Petco Park. Fantasy managers should be looking to start and stream hitters from the Cardinals, Brewers, Padres, Red Sox, and Angels. Here are those matchups:

  • PIT@COL, April 17th-April 19th
  • ATL @SD, April 17th-19th
  • TB@CIN, April 17th-19th
  • LAA@BOS, April 17th
  • MIN @BOS, April 18th-April 20th
  • LAA @NYY, April 18th-April 20th
  • TOR@NYY, April 21sr-April 23rd

That means the Rays get three games in Great American Ballpark, the Angels get one, and the Twins get three games at Fenway, where the ball appears to be flying out of the yard recently. The Pirates will open Week 4 with three games at Coors Field while the Braves visit Petco Field, where teams have hit the third most home runs (27) while Yankee Stadium has allowed the most long balls (29) this season.

The Twins, Rangers, and Rays have six games with favorable matchups this week. Streamers between three teams who are under 50% rostered can be utilized this week, such as Logan O'Hoppe, Zach Neto, Josh Jung, Michael Taylor, Harold Ramirez, and Taylor Walls.

  • MIN@BOS, April 18th-April 20th
  • WAS@MIN April 21st-23rd
  • TB@CIN, April 17th-19th
  • CWS@TB, April 21st-23rd
  • TEX@KC, April 17th-19th
  • OAK@TEX, April 21st-23rd

Week 4 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Edouard Julien, Minnesota Twins (10% Rostered)

Julien was called up to the big leagues and made his MLB debut on April 12th. He has been leading off against right-handers for the Twins since being promoted. The 23-year-old is hitting .200 (2-for-10) with a home run, two runs, and a walk across three games.

Minnesota has six games with plus matchups against the Red Sox and Nationals. Julien slashed .303/.443/.491 with 17 homers and 19 steals in Double-A in 2022. Before being promoted, he hit .290 (9-for-31) with two homers, four RBI, and a stolen base with Triple-A St. Paul. Julien has upside and a favorable schedule, making him a solid streaming option in Week 4.

Logan O'Hoppe, Los Angeles Angels (54% Rostered)

I recommended O'Hoppe last week, and we are going back to the well again in Week 4. O'Hoppe is starting to heat up at the plate and has collected a hit in four of the last five games. Overall, he is slashing .231/.279/.564 with four home runs, 11 RBI, and five runs across 11 games in 2023. The 23-year-old has started 11 of the Angels' 13 games, and his strong start should earn him playing time even when Max Stassi (hip) returns from the injured list.

This week, the Angels have a favorable seven-game schedule against the Red Sox, Yankees, and Royals. Fantasy managers searching for production at the catcher position should look to add O'Hoppe in all league formats.

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels (8% Rostered)

Neto had his contract selected by the Angels on Saturday and will replace David Fletcher, the team's starting shortstop. He slashed .444/.559/.815 with three home runs and three stolen bases through seven games at Double-A Rocket City.

The Angels have seven games with plus matchups against the Red Sox, Yankees, and Royals. Neto hit an eighth during his MLB debut on Saturday and was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The Angels selected Neto with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft. Neto has plenty of upside, and with the favorable schedule, fantasy managers can stream the 22-year-old in all league formats.

Harold Ramirez, Tampa Bay Rays (12% Rostered)

Ramirez is starting to heat up at the plate, hitting .500 (7-for-14) with a home run and five RBI across his last four games. The Rays have three games in hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark and three at home vs. the White Sox. Ramirez has seen an uptick in playing time with Jose Siri (hamstring) on the injured list.

Tampa Bay does have two touch matchups in facing Reds ace Nick Lodolo and White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease. The 28-year-old continues to wield a hot bat hitting in the heart of the order for one of the top offenses in the leagues. Ramirez is available in most leagues and should provide solid fantasy production as a streamer in Week 4.

Spencer Steer, Cincinnati Reds (13% Rostered)

Steer is starting to heat up at the plate, collecting a hit in four of his last six games, including posting multi-hit efforts in three. The 25-year-old is slashing .298/.400/.511 with two home runs, six RBI, eight runs, and a stolen base over 14 games in 2023. He has cut down on the strikeouts and has increased his walk percentage. Steer's K% has dropped from 24.1% in 2022 to 14% in 2023, while his BB% has risen from 10.2% to 14%.

Cincinnati has seven games, including three at home, with Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen as the only tough matchup the Reds have this upcoming week. Steer is hitting in the middle of the order for a potent Reds offense that has scored 22 runs over its last three games. Fantasy managers searching for a streamer at third base or the corner can use Steer as an option for Week 4.

Ke'Bryan Hayes, Pittsburgh Pirates (55% Rostered)

Hayes was dropped in many leagues recently after a slow start in 2023. The 26-year-old is slashing 1.82/.237/.309 with a home run, four RBI, and six runs scored over 14 games in 2023. He is finally showing signs of life at the plate. The 26-year-old has collected a hit and stolen two bases in three of his last four contests. He continues to make solid contact, evidenced by his 44.4% hard-hit percentage in 2023.

Pittsburgh has a favorable schedule in Week 4, with three games in hitter-friendly Coors Field and four at home versus the Reds. Cincinatti's ace Nick Lodolo presents the Pirates' toughest matchup this week. Hayes is starting to heat up along with the weather and is available in a reasonable amount of leagues. He is getting over his rough patch and should start posting solid fantasy production soon. If Hayes is available, now is an excellent time to pick him up and start the former top prospect in Week 4.

Trevor Larnach, Minnesota Twins (15% Rostered)

Larnach is slashing .255/.344/.364 with a home run, nine RBI, and six runs across 15 games in 2023. He has been in a slump recently, hitting .077 (1-for-13), but he is a good bet to bounce back. This week, the 26-year-old has a favorable schedule against the Red Sox and Nationals.

Larnach should be in the lineup daily, as the Twins are on tap to avoid any southpaws this upcoming week. He hits at the top of the order and should have a chance to post solid fantasy production. He is hitting .313 with a homer and seven RBI on the road and could have a big series against the Red Sox in hitter-friendly Fenway Park. Larnach is available in a reasonable amount of leagues and is someone fantasy managers should consider streaming in Week 4.

Other Hitter Streamers to Consider

  • Taylor Walls, 2B/3B/SS- Tampa Bay Rays (2% rostered)
  • Elehuris Montero, 1B/3B- Colorado Rockies (12% rostered)
  • Ji Hwan Bae, OF - Pittsburgh Pirates (21% rostered)
  • Geraldo Perdomo, 3B/SS- Arizona Diamondbacks (27% rostered)
  • Josh Rojas, 2B/3B- Arizona Diamondbacks (53% rostered)
  • Williams Flores 1B/2B/3B- San Francisco Giants (18% rostered)

That's it for Week 4 hitter streamers; come back next for Week 5!
