Austin Slater Could Be Activated In A Week
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater (hamstring) could be activated from the injured list when the Giants return home to take on the Mets on April 20. Slater had successfully come back from an elbow injury in spring training but injured his left hamstring in a March 16 spring contest and was placed on the IL to begin the season. Slater hit just seven home runs while stealing 12 bases last season in 125 games, but he represents a nice streaming option against left-handed pitching. The 30-year-old has hit .285 with an .845 OPS in his career against lefties versus a .227 average and .650 OPS against same-handed pitching.
