James Conner Looks Good This Offseason
2 years agoArizona Cardinals new head coach Jonathan Gannon said that running back James Conner (knee, shin) has been turning heads in the weight room this offseason. Conner missed the regular season finale in 2022 with knee/shin issues and played in only 13 games for the Cardinals in his second season with the team after making his second Pro Bowl in 2021. He had 30 more rushing yards last year than he did in 2021, but he scored eight fewer rushing touchdowns. Conner added 46 receptions on 58 targets for 300 yards and one score through the air. The 27-year-old should be fully healthy for the start of the 2023 season and has very little competition for backfield touches as the lead dog in Arizona. That alone will make him attractive as an RB1 in fantasy, but quarterback Kyler Murray's (knee) injury could cause Arizona's offense to get out of the gates slow in 2023.
