Kyle Farmer Needs Surgery, Doesn't Have Fractured Jaw
2 years agoMinnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that infielder Kyle Farmer (jaw) will have a procedure "to realign his teeth and fix a major laceration of the lower jaw" after he was hit by a pitch in the face against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Farmer went 0-for-1 in the game with a strikeout before departing, and he'll likely be placed on the injured list. The 32-year-old had started the last three games with Carlos Correa battling back spasms, but Correa is expected to return to the starting lineup on Thursday against the New York Yankees. Farmer entered Wednesday's game hitting .233 (7-for-30) with a double, home run, five RBI and six runs scored in his first 10 games of the season.
