The 2023 NFL Draft is under three weeks away, and the rumor mill is on fire. One of the top names on the rumor mill is Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.
While Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud are the top two quarterbacks for most NFL Draft evaluators, Richardson is the ultimate wild card. The former Florida quarterback didn’t put up the most impressive numbers last year, completing only 53.8% of his pass attempts for 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns.
However, Richardson arguably has more upside than any other quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft. Furthermore, talent evaluators have loved what the quarterback has done during the pre-draft process.

What Has Anthony Richardson Done During the Pre-Draft Process?
Richardson led all quarterbacks with a 4.43 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Furthermore, it was the third-fastest time ever for a quarterback. Reggie McNeal (4.35) and Robert Griffin III (4.41) are the only two quarterbacks with a faster 40-yard dash time than Richardson. However, McNeal (198 pounds) and Griffin (223 pounds) both weighed at least 20 pounds less than Richardson (244) at the NFL Combine.
The former Florida star set the NFL Combine on fire with his 40-yard dash. Yet, Richardson also led all quarterbacks in the vertical jump (40.5 inches) and broad jump (129 inches), showing off his explosiveness.
Meanwhile, the former Gator shined at his pro day last month. Richardson showed off his arm strength with an impressive bomb to end the pro day before doing back flips down the field to celebrate with his teammates.
Which Team Could Pick Anthony Richardson In The 2023 NFL Draft?
Richardson was a popular choice to be the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft six weeks ago. However, his odds dropped after the Carolina Panthers acquired the No. 1 overall pick. Yet, Carolina head coach Frank Reich reportedly wants the team to draft the former Gator.
The Panthers may make Richardson their new franchise quarterback. Some have compared him to former Carolina great Cam Newton. More importantly, the team signed Andy Dalton in free agency. That means the veteran could begin the year as the starter until the rookie is ready to play.
However, a more likely landing spot is the Indianapolis Colts or Seattle Seahawks. Those two teams need a quarterback and own a top-five NFL Draft pick. Furthermore, either team could trade up to the No. 3 overall pick to secure Richardson.
