Top Hitter Streamers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 3

Garrett Mitchell - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, Draft Sleepers

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 3 Hitters of the 2023 season to add from the waiver wire and stream. Brad analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up.

Can you believe it RotoBallers? Week 3 of the MLB season is already here. We are looking at the top hitter streamers and starts for fantasy baseball Week 3 - April 10 through April 16. For those new to this series, each week our fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered as waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

Fantasy teams are built through the draft, but some can argue leagues are won through in-season management. Last week I recommended Yandy Diaz, Garrett Mitchell, Adam Duvall, and Josh Jung. All recommended four hitters provided solid fantasy production in Week 2. Today we will review potential hitters to stream in Week 3. Let's see which hitters made the list this week.

We look into some hitters playing in the most games and have favorable matchups to help you get off to a fast start early in the year. As always, check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamers content after you read this piece!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

12 teams play seven games between Monday, April 10th, and Sunday, April 16th. Those teams are:

  • Orioles
  • Red Sox
  • Reds
  • Brewers
  • Twins
  • Yankees
  • A's
  • Phillies
  • Padres
  • Pirates
  • Cardinals
  • Rays

There is plenty to like for fantasy purposes between these 13 lineups, and the Cardinals will have three games in hitter-friendly Coors Field. The Cardinals have the best matchups this week, with three games in Coors and four at home against the Pirates. Baltimore has seven games with favorable matchups against the A's and White Sox. Milwaukee's offense has been on fire and has seven games this week. With almost half the teams having seven games, there will be plenty of potential options to stream.

We have some games in the most hitter-friendly ballparks, Coors Field, Great American Ballpark, Fenway Park, and Petco Park. Fantasy managers should be looking to start and stream hitters from the Cardinals, Brewers, Padres, Red Sox, and Angels. Here are those matchups:

  • STL@COL, April 10th-April 12th
  • MIL @SD, April 13th-16th
  • PHI@CIN, April 13th-16th
  • LAA@BOS, April 14th-16th

That means the Phillies get four games in Great American Ballpark, while the Angels get three games at Fenway, where the ball appears to be flying out of the yard recently. The Cardinals will open Week 3 with three games at Coors Field while the Brewers visit Petco Field, where teams have hit the second most amount of home runs (17) this season.

The Angels, Braves, and Mariners have six games with favorable matchups this week. Streamers between both teams who are under 50% rostered can be utilized this week, such as Logan O'Hoppe, Mitch Garver, Orlando Arcia, Luis Rengifo, and Jarred Kelenic.

  • WAS@LAA, April 10th-12th
  • LAA@BOS, April 14th-16th
  • CIN@ATL, April 10th-12th
  • ATL@KC, April 14th-16th
  • SEA@CHC, April 10th-12th
  • COL@SEA, April 14th-16th

Week 3 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Joey Wiemer, Milwaukee Brewers (10% Rostered)

Wiemer was called up to the big leagues and made his MLB debut on April 1. He has been hitting at the bottom of the lineup but has made the most of his opportunity in the majors. The 24-year-old is hitting .350 (7-for-20) with a home run, three RBI, two runs, and a stolen base across six games.

Milwaukee has seven games, and Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen is the only tough matchup the Brewers have this week. Wiemer has power-speed upside, and with seven games in Week 3, fantasy managers should look to not only stream this week but to stash him on their rosters for the foreseeable future.

Logan O'Hoppe, Los Angeles Angels (22% Rostered)

O'Hoppe is starting to heat up at the plate and has homered twice over his last four games. Overall, he is slashing .250/.304/.600 with two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs across six games in 2023. The 23-year-old has started six of the Angels' seven games, and his strong start should earn him playing time even when Max Stassi (hip) returns from the injured list.

The Angels have a favorable six-game schedule against the Nationals and Red Sox this week. Fantasy managers searching for production at the catcher position should look to add O'Hoppe in all league formats.

Isaac Paredes, Tampa Bay Rays (11% Rostered)

Paredes made the other hitters to consider article last week and, after a blistering start, has now officially made the top streamer list. He is slashing .318/.348/.591 with two home runs, six RBI, and four runs across seven games in 2023. The Rays have been the hottest team in baseball and have seven games against the Red Sox (4) and Blue Jays (3) in Week 3.

Toronto's ace Alek Manoah presents Tampa Bay's only tough matchup this week. Manoah has struggled with walks as of late and yielded five runs in his first start. Paredes qualifies at three positions and is starting to heat up by homering twice in two of his last four games. Fantasy managers searching for a Week 3 streamer and infield help should look to add Paredes in all league formats.

Alec Burleson, St.Louis Cardinals (2% Rostered)

If Nolan Gorman (57% rostered) is available, fantasy managers should add and start Gorman this week. Managers in leagues with Gorman rostered will have to pivot to Alec Burleson. The 24-year-old has started four of the last six games for the Cardinals, with Lars Nootbaar (thumb) on the 10-day injured list.

Burleson has surpassed Dylan Carlson on the Cardinals' outfield depth chart and is off to a solid start in 2023. He is slashing .316/.350/.579 with a homer, two RBI, and three runs scored across 20 plate appearances. St. Louis has seven games with favorable matchups against the Rockies and Pirates this week, including three contests at Coors Field.

Burleson's playing time will take a hit if the Cardinals decide to activate Nootbaar from the injured list on Monday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation, but Burleson has hit well enough to be a viable streaming option in deep-league formats while Nootbaar is sidelined.

Garrett Mitchell, Milwaukee Brewers (54% Rostered)

Incredibly, Mitchell is still available in a reasonable amount of leagues after slashing .333/.385/.833 with three home runs, six RBI, and six runs across 26 plate appearances in 2023. The 24-year-old made last week's top hitter streamers article, and we will run it back again with the former first-round pick in Week 3.

Milwaukee has seven games, and Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen is the only tough matchup the Brewers have this upcoming week. Despite having spring speed in the 99 percentile, Mitchell surprisingly hasn't stolen a base this year. With the great schedule and expected uptick in stolen bases, Mitchell is not only an excellent streamer in Week 3 but should be rostered in all league formats.

Luke Raley, Tampa Bay Rays (3% Rostered)

Raley has been on fire recently, homering three times over his last two games. The 28-year-old is hitting .308 (4-for-13) with three home runs, six RBI, and four runs over five games. The Rays placed outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Raley should see an uptick in at-bats while Siri is sidelined.

Tampa Bay has been the hottest team in baseball and has seven games against the Red Sox (4) and Blue Jays (3) in Week 3. Raley has been wielding a hot bat recently, and with an increase in playing time, fantasy managers should look to add and stream the veteran in deep-league formats.

Adam Frazier, Baltimore Orioles (31% Rostered)

Frazier has always been a solid fantasy asset for fantasy managers that qualifies at both second base and outfield. He is off to a terrific start in 2023, slashing .350/.435/.650 with a home run, four RBI, six runs, and a stolen base over seven games. The 31-year-old contributes enough in each category to have fantasy appeal in deep-league formats.

Baltimore has seven games and a very favorable schedule this week, facing the A's for four games at home and the road versus White Sox for three. Frazier is available in most leagues and can be a viable streamer in Week 3 while he continues to provide solid fantasy production.

Other Hitter Streamers to Consider

  • Brice Turang, 2B/SS- Milwaukee Brewers (28% rostered)
  • Patrick Wisdom, 1B/3B/OF - Chicago Cubs (29% rostered)
  • Ji Hwan Bae, OF - Pittsburgh Pirates (9% rostered)
  • Orlando Arcia 2B/SS/OF- Atlanta Braves (36% rostered)
  • Myles Straw, OF- Cleveland Guardians (37% rostered)
  • James Outman, OF - Los Angeles Dodgers (53% rostered)

That's it for Week 3 hitter streamers; come back next for Week 4!
