Orlando Arcia Walks Off The Padres Thursday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia continued his torrid start to the season on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a homer and walking the game off in the bottom of the ninth to send the Braves to a 7-6 win over the San Diego Padres. Arcia has been a revelation to start the season for Atlanta, hitting .370 with seven runs scored, four RBI, and two homers early in the campaign. Perhaps the Braves were onto something when they gave Arcia the starting shortstop job over top prospect Vaughn Grissom, a decision that many questioned. Of course, it could unravel quickly for Arcia, who has a career OPS of .670. But at the very least, he has earned himself more time to play himself out of the job.
