Travis d'Arnaud Back In Cleanup Spot Thursday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher/designated hitter Travis d'Arnaud is back in the cleanup spot in Thursday's matchup against the San Diego Padres. The veteran hit eighth, sixth, and fifth in his first three starts of the season but will now make his fourth straight start out of the cleanup spot, and it's not hard to see why. d'Arnaud is white-hot at the plate to begin the season as he's gone 10-for-26 (.385) with three doubles through the first six games of the campaign. Another pattern that will continue Thursday is d'Arnaud alternating starts at designated hitter and catcher while he'll start at the former in the series opener versus the Padres who send Blake Snell to the rubber for his second start of the season.
