Cal Raleigh Moves Up To Cleanup Spot Wednesday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is being moved up to the cleanup spot for Wednesday's matchup against Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels. Wednesday marks the fifth start of the season for the switch-hitting backstop but the first out of the cleanup spot as he has hit out of the five-hole in each of his previous four starts. The promotion up the lineup doesn't come as a surprise considering Raleigh is hitting .333 on the young season and, while he has yet to hit a home run, he does have five RBI while his 27 long balls across 119 games last season are certainly worthy of hitting out of the cleanup spot.
