Brett Baty Has Huge Game For Triple-A Syracuse
2 years agoNew York Mets third base prospect Brett Baty had a huge game on Saturday for Triple-A Syracuse. The 23-year-old went 4-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI and swiped a bag in the impressive performance. One of his homers was a grand slam. Baty significantly outperformed third baseman Eduardo Escobar in Spring Training, but the Mets opted to go with the veteran for Opening Day. Escobar will need to show some signs of life to open the season or Baty may force the Mets hand. Even though it was just one game, Baty is beating on the door to help the Mets. Managers should expect Baty to be wearing the blue and orange at some point this season and he can be difference maker when he does.
