DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (4/2/23): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on April 2nd, 2023. Kyle Ringstad provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

We're coming down the home stretch of the NBA season, and it's certainly evident by some of the lineups that teams are trotting out these days. The Trail Blazers aren't on the main slate, but you could argue that they don't have more than two players who should be in an NBA rotation. So, that's the kind of stuff we're dealing with.

Five teams in action tonight are favored by at least 11 points, so be sure to factor that in when you're constructing lineups. Let's get to it.

Here is my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 4/2/23. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

NBA DFS Matchup Rankings

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Luka Doncic, vs. ATL (FD: $12,200, DK: $11,800)

We went with Luka last night in a difficult matchup against the Heat, and all he did was go out and put up over 71 DK points. The Mavericks are playing for their playoff lives, so we know Doncic will be suiting up for the second half of a back-to-back tonight against the Hawks. The Hawks present a much easier matchup for Doncic as they allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams and rank 22nd in defensive efficiency. He only put up 44.5 DK points in the last Mavericks-Hawks matchup, but he had an outlier game with seven turnovers and shot just 9-for-19 from the field. Tonight's tilt features the highest implied total on the board, and it's the top matchup for fantasy production, so I'm all over Doncic in search of another sky-high ceiling output.

Delon Wright, vs. NYK (FD: $6,200, DK: $5,900)

Both Wright and Jordan Goodwin are underpriced now that Monte Morris has been ruled out for tonight's game. Morris left Friday's game with an ankle injury and both guards picked up the slack, with Wright leading the way by scoring 41.25 DK points over his 32 minutes. He'll be the de-facto lead option with Morris and mainstays Porzingis, Beal, and Kuzma off the floor. While Goodwin has slightly better splits with those four out, Wright's aren't shabby either (20.9% usage rate, 1.01 FPTS/min), and he's likely to receive more minutes than Goodwin tonight. The Knicks aren't as tough of a matchup as they seem, as they rank 19th in defensive efficiency on the season.

Jordan Goodwin, vs. NYK (FD: $5,200, DK: $4,000)

Also consider: Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Trae Young, De'Aaron Fox, Kyrie Irving, Jalen Suggs, Devin Booker, Chris Paul

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jonathan Kuminga, vs. DEN (FD: $5,300, DK: $4,600)

I don't like recommending Kuminga as much as I don't like playing him. However, we will need to take the value that the slate presents if we're looking to fit one (or both) of Doncic and Davis into lineups tonight. The second-year wing is still playing heavy minutes in the continued absence of Andrew Wiggins, and while the results have been decidedly mixed, he's on a two-game roll coming into tonight's action. He put up 29 and 22 DK points over his last two, which exceeded 5x value at his salary at the time. He needs 23 DK points to hit 5x tonight, and as long as he sees his typical 30-ish minute workload, he should get there easily. The Warriors-Nuggets game ranks as the third-best to target for DFS tonight, and it's worth noting that he put up 29.75 DK points the last time these teams met back on February 2nd.

Josh Okogie, vs. OKC (FD: $4,800, $DK: 4,400) DraftKings Preferred

We go from one cheap forward to the next with this one, as Okogie is cheaper than Kuminga and plays about the same amount of minutes. He's a slightly worse fantasy producer from a FPTS/min perspective, but 0.81 FPTs/min will still get the job done when you're playing 30 minutes per night. The Thunder allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams, but they do rank well defensively, which is a stark departure from past iterations of the team. The thought is that Okogie is cheap enough and will do enough in the box score in his extended minutes to pay off value. We're not looking for a ceiling game out of the former Timberwolves forward.

Also consider: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Josh Hart

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Anthony Davis, vs. HOU (FD: $11,500, DK: $10,600) DraftKings Preferred

AD sure seems to be fully healthy. The veteran big man has put up at least 60 DK points in three of his last four games, and a repeat of that would be well over 5x value at his current DraftKings salary. The Rockets, of course, are one of the best teams to target players against in fantasy basketball. They allow the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams and while they're (surprisingly) elite at rebounding (#1 in rebounding rate), they rank 29th in defensive efficiency. I think this game stays closer than the current 11.5-point spread indicates, and Davis should put up a monster score if he sees his full complement of minutes tonight.

Also consider: Deandre Ayton, Wendell Carter Jr.
