XFL DFS Lineup Picks: DraftKings Daily Fantasy Fantasy Advice for Week 7

It's time for Week 7 of the XFL season. Hard to believe we're this far in, isn't it? But Saturday's April, which is the month the XFL regular season ends, so this thing's chugging along nicely. Last week, D.C. made a statement, beating Houston 37-26 on Monday night, keeping the Defenders undefeated. Every other team has lost at least twice.

With DraftKings offering XFL contests again this year, I'll be here every week with lineup picks for the league. It looks like the plan at DraftKings is to do one four-game slate each weekend, even when there's a game on Thursday.

Below, you'll find my thoughts on the Week 7 DFS slate of XFL contests on DraftKings, which goes live on 3/31/2023 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Be sure to also read all our other weekly XFL fantasy football articles. Let's get to it, and good luck RotoBallers!

DraftKings Quarterbacks - Week 7 XFL DFS Picks

A.J. McCarron - St. Louis Battlehawks -  @ Houston Roughnecks - $11,100

It's always smart to play a QB who won't get benched, which is why there are only two safe plays in the XFL: Ben DiNucci from Seattle and A.J. McCarron in St. Louis. The third "safe" guy, Brandon Silvers, ended up getting benched for Cole McDonald last week.

As for which of DiNucci and McCarron to play, I usually lean DiNucci, but the matchup against Arlington could be tricky this week as the Renegades allow the fewest passing yards in the league, so I'm going with McCarron, who has thrown multiple touchdown passes in four consecutive games, including tossing three of them last week in a blowout win over Vegas. He faces a Houston defense that allows the fourth-most passing yards per game.

Jawon Pass - San Antonio Brahmas - @ Vegas Vipers - $6,400

The volatility once you get past the top two quarterbacks usually means I don't go digging for QB value, but I think there's some upside with San Antonio's Jawon Pass this week, who costs just $6,400. Jack Coan, the team's usual starter, was out last week with an ankle injury. If—and I'll even put this in bold to emphasize—if Coan is out again, then Pass becomes an interesting value option.

What makes Pass appealing to me is also what makes San Antonio running backs appealing this week: the Vipers allow a league-high 136.7 rushing yards per game. Even if Pass struggles to throw the ball, there should be room for the Brahmas to do some designed run plays for him. While he was just 8-for-14 for 57 yards throwing the ball last week, he added 21 more yards on the ground. And I think after how bad Kurt Benkert looked—1-for-6 for two yards and a pick—that the Brahmas will just roll with Pass, assuming Coan doesn't play.

(If Coan plays, my value play at QB is...uhh, no one? Maybe Quinten Dormady from Orlando at $8,000, as he played well last week.)

DraftKings Running Backs - Week 7 XFL DFS Picks

Max Borghi - Houston Roughnecks - vs St. Louis BattleHawks - $8,900

The BattleHawks allow the second-most rushing yards per game in the XFL, which could be just what Borghi needs to get on track. He has three touchdown runs over the last two games, but he's also averaged under 2.5 yards per carry in both games. But if he can find some running room, his volume and his nose for the end zone would make him a pretty dangerous player.

Jacques Patrick - San Antonio Brahmas - @ Vegas Vipers - $5,700

Like I mentioned above, the Vipers allow more rushing yards per game than any other team, and the Brahmas are likely to lean on the run game, especially if Jack Coan doesn't play.

Patrick is coming off his best game of the season, carrying the ball 15 times for 82 yards against Arlington last week. He didn't find the end zone, but he did help move the chains three times, plus he caught three passes for 18 yards. There's some really nice value here.

DraftKings Wide Receivers and Tight Ends - Week 7 XFL DFS Picks

Deontay Burnett - Houston Roughnecks - vs St. Louis BattleHawks - $9,700

With Jontre Kirklin done for the year, Deontay Burnett has taken over as Houston's No. 1 receiver. And despite a mid-game QB change on Monday night, Burnett put on a show, catching four passes for 122 yards and a touchdown—an 85-yard touchdown. He was targeted six times.

Would I like more guaranteed volume? Sure. But Burnett's the big-play guy, and I think there's a lot of value in playing someone with his kind of ceiling.

Lucky Jackson - D.C. Defenders - @ Orlando Guardians - $6,200

The Guardians allow the third-most passing yards in the XFL. While I don't expect D.C. to really need to go wild through the air—they're undefeated while having the third-fewest passing yards—I do think there's some upside to playing a Defenders receiver and hoping he can do some damage early.

Jackson has caught four or more passes in all but one game this year, and he has four consecutive games with more than 50 receiving yards. He had his best game last week, catching five of his season-high eight targets for 136 yards and his first touchdown of the season. He tied for the team lead in targets and receptions.

Dan Williams III- Orlando Guardians - vs D.C. Defenders - $3,000

Despite being undefeated, the Defenders allow the most passing yards per game in the XFL, which is largely a result of the team being so good on offense that the opposing team has to play from behind so much.

That's why I'm not against taking a dart throw on a Guardians receiver this week, even though Orlando struggles as a team. The Guardians rank fourth in passing yards per game, which is partly a function of how often they play from behind.

While Charleston Rambo and Cody Latimer get most of the attention in Orlando, Dan Williams is appealing. He barely saw action after being signed, with just one target before last week, but his role jumped against Seattle, as Williams was targeted eight times, pulling in five passes for 46 yards.
