MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Max Scherzer OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-145 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Scherzer was a virtual lock to eclipse this prop last season, compiling at least six strikeouts in 18 of 23 starts. Although his 10.7 K/9 – excellent by most pitchers' standards – was his lowest since 2014, Mad Max still missed plenty of bats, posting an impressive 15.3 percent swinging strike rate. The opposing Marlins ranked in the bottom half of the baseball last season with a 23.0 percent strikeout rate against righties – and Miami's current bats specifically have a 26.2 percent strikeout rate against him – while Scherzer boasted a slightly higher K/9 on the road (10.8) than at home (10.6) in 2022.
Corbin Burnes OVER 7.5 strikeouts (-102 FanDuel Sportsbook)
Burnes gets a crack at a Cubs team whose current bats – including the talented array they added this offseason – he's rung up 35 strikeouts against in 107 career encounters. Burnes generated a 30.5 percent strikeout rate a year ago and Chicago ranked in the bottom 10 against right-handers with a 23.8 percent strikeout rate. Burnes also recorded at least eight Ks in 20 of 33 starts in 2022, including a pair of 10-K efforts versus the Cubs.
Miles Mikolas UNDER 4.5 strikeouts (-128 FanDuel Sportsbook)
Mikolas' swing-and-miss stuff is middling as evidenced by K/9 figures under 7.0 in all but one season of his MLB career. The right-hander was under five strikeouts in 17 of 33 appearances (32 starts) last season, and he's facing a Blue Jays team that struck out at just a 20.2 percent rate versus righties in 2022.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Ozzie Albies OVER 1.5 total bases (-105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Albies has tormented Nationals starter Patrick Corbin for a .429 average and 26 total bases in 29 career plate appearances. The 26-year-old also posted just a 12.5 percent strikeout rate against lefties last season but was victimized by a .250 BABIP in that split. Then, Corbin was often bounced around by right-handed hitters in 2022, allowing a .320 average and 55 extra-base hits (28 doubles, three triples, and 24 homers).
Jake Cronenworth OVER 0.5 RBI (+175 BetMGM Sportsbook)
Cronenworth has hit .353 with four extra-base hits and three RBI across 18 career encounters against Rockies starter German Marquez, a sample in which he's struck out only twice. The lefty-swinging second baseman recorded a career-high 88 RBI last season while hitting a solid .274 against right-handed hitters with runners in scoring position. He's also projected to hit behind the quartet of Trent Grisham, Juan Soto, Manny Machado, and Xander Bogaerts, which should afford him a strong chance of driving in at least one run.
