A week before the Masters means we get a much weaker field than usual, which leaves us with the majority of the field producing an outcome range of T20 to missed cut on any given day. Lets try find some of the guys that will give us the best shot at a competitive lineup this week.
In this article, we'll discuss some of the standout PGA DFS plays available on FanDuel. While it's impossible to hit on every player, we'll touch on some different plays across all price ranges, breaking the groups down into "High," "Mid," and "Low" price options that are worth considering.
Like always, the purpose of this piece is to help you put together your optimal daily fantasy golf lineups for FanDuel, whether that be from a GPP perspective or a cash-game mentality. Be sure to also read all of our other top-notch weekly PGA DFS and betting articles to help you win big!

FanDuel Strategy Nuances (PGA DFS)
Before we dive into the FanDuel plays for this week, we are going to be comparing the prices of golfers on the FD slate to that of the DraftKings slate in order to figure out some value for the respective golfers. We get an extra $10,000 ($60,000 salary limit in FanDuel) to spend on the same six guys, so there is an opportunity to build some really optimal lineups if we find the right guys. The average increase per player should be $1,666.67 ($10,000/6).
We have tons of great weekly PGA articles, DFS analysis, tools, and DFS advice. Be sure to read our other fantastic articles regarding this week's event, including DFS lineup picks for DraftKings/FanDuel, betting advice, DFS prop picks, and course previews.
Below is the difference in salary between the two DFS platforms using the downloadable research station that is part of our affordable Premium Package. It has event history, recent form, DFS scoring upside, and a whole lot more nerdy stuff.
High-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Chris Kirk ($11,100, $1,800 difference)
Chris Kirk sees a hefty increase in his FanDuel price compared to DK, but if you scan your eyes to the right of the above image, that is probably a much more reflective price considering what he has done at this venue in the past. He has four top-13s in his last 7 ganders around TPC San Antonio and his last three starts include a win. There is a lot to like from Kirk this week including his long term fantasy points gained.
Matt Kuchar ($10,600, $1,400 difference)
Matt Kuchar is basically the 15 year older version of Chris Kirk. He has fantastic history around this venue and with finishes of 2nd, 12th, and 7th in his last three showings, there is a lot to look forward to this week as his ball striking is approaching the level that we saw in in 2019 and before, when he was winning tournaments. Add that uptick in form to a course history that is tough rivaled by very few in this field, and we have a culmination of metrics that could see Kuch sneak into the Masters with a win.
Ryan Fox ($9,900 ,$900 difference)
We find our first severely undervalued golfer between the two platforms, with Fox only seeing a $900 increase in price. He has two top-30 finishes in two most recent PGA Tour events and has been electric on the DP World Tour for a while now. If he can transfer his European form to this Texas track he will be a great value to have in your DFS lineups.

Mid-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Mid-priced salary differences. Notice how much more red we see in that difference column in this range versus the high-priced range. Bear that in mind when deciding which players to play on either platform.
Patton Kizzire ($8,600, $1,100 increase)
We are glomming onto Patton Kizzire's 9th place finish at the Valero two years ago as well as his T10 at the Valspar two weeks ago. If either of those are reflective of what we can expect from Kizzire this week, he has the potential to slip into the top-10 by the end of the week. Kizzire is one of the better fantasy scorers in this range and should provide some value at a price that is well below the average starting salary for lineups.
Ryan Palmer ($8,500, $1,400)
Ryan Palmer is one of these guys that just loves Texas. He is partially the reason why we have so many event history columns in our image, as his history at this course dates back to 2004, with his first of many top 10s coming in 2010. He has been a little off his game in recent years, but when in Texas he tends to up his game and at this price we are hoping that happens once more.
Lucas Glover ($8,000, $1,100 increase)
Lucas Glover has finishes of T18, 4th, T14 in his last three strolls around the Valero and isnt that much more expensive compared to DK. He seems to really like this venue as he most likely doesn't need to rely on his putter to sink too many birdie putts. Instead, he can lean on his steady tee to green game to get himself to -7 over the course of the week, which should once again be more than enough to find himself inside the top 20. He has also come off two made cuts an elevated event (The PLAYERS) and most recently the Valspar, which bodes well for his form entering the week.
Low-Priced FanDuel DFS Players
The below golfers are all candidates to round out your player pool based on their track record at Pebble Beach.
Stewart Cink ($7,900, $600 increase)
It is not necessarily an objective take, but I prefer to play Stewart Cink at courses where there are not a lot of water hazards. His ball is a magnet to them, despite being one of the top fantasy points scorers in this range. He makes a lot of birdies but he makes a lot of doubles too. We are hoping that the 22nd place finish in 2017 can be rekindled this week and provide us with a good result at a price only $600 more spendy than his DK price tag.
Kevin Chappell ($7,600, $900 increase)
Kevin Chappell has both sneaky-good course history and recent form. He has four top-30s in his last five appearances here while entering the week with two top-30 finishes in his last two PGA Tour starts. There is a lot to like about Chappell at this price point!
Ryan Moore ($7,400, $1,000 increase)
At $7,400 we get a golfer who has a 3rd, 7th, and 18th in three of his last four starts at the Valero. His impressive iron play is emphasized here, while his lack of distance of the tee is deemphasized. A combination of metrics that could see him continue to play well at this course.
Jimmy Walker ($7,000, $800 increase)
At a min price $7,000 Jimmy Walker won the Valero a year before he became a PGA Championship major winner. He has great course history here even if we exclude his win and hopefully he can find a resurgence in form to make the cut, which is all we need as the cheapest golfer in the field.
