Kole Calhoun Opts Out Of Minor-League Deal
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Kole Calhoun opted out of his minor-league deal with the team on Sunday and is now a free agent, according to a source. Calhoun wasn't going to make the club's Opening Day roster, so he'll now hope to latch on with another team for the 2023 season. In 12 Cactus League games with the M's, Calhoun went 8-for-32 (.250) with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and six strikeouts in 35 plate appearances. In 125 games in 2022 with the Texas Rangers, the 35-year-old veteran slashed just .196/.257/.330 with a .587 OPS, 12 home runs, 49 RBI and 36 runs scored in 424 plate appearances. Calhoun might join another team on a minor-league deal, but he should be ignored in all fantasy leagues.
