Jordan Walker Makes Opening Day Roster
Jordan Walker was selected for the team's Opening Day roster. Walker is the Cardinals' No. 1 prospect and is ranked fifth in all of baseball. Walker displayed impressive bat-to-ball skills and showboated some of his long-ball pop. He possesses monumental arm strength and executed a handful of highlight-worthy plays throughout spring training. Jordan Walker, Pedro Pages Sitting On Saturday
Jordan Walker and catcher Pedro Pages are not in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon when the Cardinals continue a series against the New York Mets. Walker has been in the starting nine for each of their previous eight contests. During this stretch, the former 21st overall pick has held a modest .188/.188/.313 slash line with one double and a home run. Through 19 games this season, Walker has held a .239/.299/.338 slash line with two home runs and two stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to return to the lineup on Sunday. Pages has taken over top catching duties with Ivan Herrera (knee) on the 10-day injured list. Pages has held a .207 AVG over his last eight games. As a result, Brendan Donovan, Lars Nootbaar, and Victor Scott II will cover the outfield while Yohel Pozo will be behind the dish.

Jordan Walker Homers On Sunday In Cardinals Win
Jordan Walker slammed his second homer of the 2025 season on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium to help the Cardinals get past the Phillies, 7-0. Walker's two-run shot to left field came in the eighth inning off relief pitcher Carlos Hernandez and closed out the scoring for the day. Walker is hitting .275 with two home runs, two stolen bases, and a .336 wOBA in his 14 games this season. He looks much more comfortable at the plate this season after hitting only .201 last year, and he is still just 22 years old, so he still has plenty of breakout potential. The win on Sunday gave the Cardinals the series win over the Phillies and gives them a chance to get to .500 with a win on Monday night against the visiting Astros.

Jordan Walker Getting Shot In Two-Hole On Friday
Willson Contreras on the bench on Friday, outfielder Jordan Walker is being bumped up to the No. 2 spot in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola in the series opener. The Cardinals are considering moving Contreras down in the batting order moving forward after his slow start tot he 2025 season, and Walker could be the beneficiary up in the two-hole. The 22-year-old former top prospect was a big disappointment in his first two big-league seasons for the Cards and was sent back to the minors multiple times. However, he will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself this year, and so far, he's looked good. In the first 11 games, he's gone 11-for-39 with a homer, four RBI and two steals. The matchup isn't a great one on Friday, but a permanent move to the two-hole would be great news for Walker's fantasy value going forward.

Jordan Walker Posts Two More Hits
Jordan Walker went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. He also singled, scored a run, swiped a bag, and struck out. Walker took Angels pitcher Kyle Hendricks deep in the bottom of the fourth inning for his second HR of the season -- getting the better of the veteran on a nine-pitch at-bat. It was the former first-round pick's second multi-hit game in a row. Walker has been hitting well to start the season, sporting a robust .429/.529/.643 triple-slash with just two strikeouts in 14 at-bats. The 22-year-old is a former top prospect who hit for power and average in the minors.
