Orioles Reassign Colton Cowser
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfield prospect Colton Cowser has been reassigned to minor-league camp. Cowser struggled to make contact this spring, but showed his power with three homers and nine RBI to go along with a .212 batting average in 33 at-bats. The fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft, the left-hander made a strong splash in 2022 where he started the season in High-A and finished in Triple-A. During that time, he hit .278 with 19 homers and 66 RBI. The most impressive part of his game is his patience and that plus his power is a recipe for success when he makes the big leagues. Cowser has the potential to be the first outfielder promoted from a talented farm system if an injury happens, but for now will open the season down on the farm. Managers in dynasty leagues should consider adding Cowser and he'd be an exciting dart throw in redraft leagues, should he get a promotion this season.
