Marcus Pettersson Placed On Long-Term Injured Reserve
2 years agoPittsburgh Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson (lower body) was placed on long-term Injured Reserve on Monday. He was injured Saturday against the Rangers and the move is retroactive to the game. The injury bug has hassled the Penguins blue line throughout the season and Pettersson is the latest victim. The 26-year-old has recorded 130 hits and 130 blocks, while also helping out at times on the offensive end, producing 24 points in 67 games. With Jeff Petry (upper body) still out as well, the likes of Kris Letang and Brian Dumoulin are set for a very busy night Monday versus Ottawa. Meanwhile, Pierre-Olivier Joseph will replace Pettersson as Letang's partner on the first defensive pairing.
