Christian Walker Hits First Spring Homer In Return Saturday
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker (hip) returned to the Cactus League lineup on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians and went 1-for-2 with his first spring home run and a walk in the team's 6-4 win. Walker was pulled from Monday's Cactus League game early as a precaution after being hit by a pitch above his hip, but he was able to return this weekend and should be fully expected to be ready for Opening Day in a few weeks. The 31-year-old played first base on Saturday and hit cleanup for Arizona. If you choose to wait on the first base position in fantasy drafts, Walker is a fine target for his power. He hit .242/.327/.477 with an .804 OPS, career-high 36 home runs, 94 RBI and 84 runs scored in 160 games for the D-backs in 2022.
