Cedric Mullins Seeing Light Work For Team USA
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles and Team USA outfielder Cedric Mullins has yet to see many reps in the World Baseball Classic as part of a stacked American roster. Mullins has logged just five at-bats while appearing in three games, going 1-for-5 with an RBI triple and two strikeouts in that time. Mullins' triple came in a 12-1 blowout win over Team Canada on Monday, while he made just one plate appearance in USA's 3-2 triumph over Colombia on Wednesday. The former 13th-round pick hit .214 with a double in 14 Grapefruit League at-bats before departing for the World Baseball Classic. The 28-year-old regressed after an explosive 2021 season, hitting .258 with 16 home runs, 34 stolen bases, and a .721 OPS across 156 appearances for the Orioles in 2021. His wRC+ dropped from 136 in 2021 to 106 in 2022, but he still boasts a combination of power and speed, making him an attractive fantasy asset in his prime on draft day.
