Jimmy Garoppolo Agrees To Three-Year Deal With Raiders
2 years agoFormer San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders on a three-year, $67.5 million deal. Las Vegas released Derek Carr this offseason and were rumored to be interested in reuniting former Patriots offensive coordinator and current Raiders' head coach Josh McDaniels with Garoppolo for 2023. Jimmy G worked with McDaniels as Tom Brady's backup from 2014-2017 before he was traded to the 49ers. Garoppolo posted 16 touchdowns and four interceptions in 10 games before suffering a season-ending foot injury in Week 13. With Trey Lance and Brock Purdy on the roster, he had no place in the Niners' QB depth chart. Garoppolo will have plenty of weapons to work with in Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Darren Waller, and Josh Jacobs. He should be viewed as a mid-tier QB2 for fantasy.
