Harrison Burton's Late Wreck Changes The Race
2 years agoKevin Harvick worked his way up from 15th to the lead in the final stage of the United Rentals 500 and had a 3.3-second lead with 20 laps to go when Harrison Burton spun on the front stretch. This brought out a late caution and changed the race completely. Burton was not having a strong day, failing to stay on the lead lap and struggling for the majority of the race. Burton's wreck caused damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle, specifically the wheel. The damage to the car was repaired, but the damage to Harvick's chances of winning his 10th race at Phoenix couldn't be reversed. After the wreck, Burton finished 35th.
