DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/12/23 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

Zach Edey - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

We have finally reached Selection Sunday. Five tournaments are masochists and are holding the selection committee hostage by hosting their Conference Championship games today. Four of those games grace our DraftKings slate. I tend to think that the committee already has the bubble teams figured out and has mostly what they are going to do with these ten teams figured out.

Dayton can steal a bid with a win over VCU and put the Rams in jeopardy of not getting in if they win the A-10 tournament. If VCU wins, the Sun Devils are probably going to be pretty happy. A&M and Alabama are both in the tournament and are both likely locked into their seeds anyway. They are just playing for a shiny trophy. Same for Memphis and Houston, but I tend to think Houston falls off the one line if they lose. Same with Purdue. Penn State is in, but might be able to get into the 8-9 game with a win here.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/12/23, starting at 1 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Kendric Davis, Memphis ($9,700)

Memphis blew Tulane off the court in Fort Worth yesterday, so Davis didn't put up the monster stat line that I was hoping for. However, he still scored 20 points and nearly hit 40 DraftKings points. Houston has held Davis in check (for him) in both games this season, but that still means he should hit mid-30s. I would probably side with Pickett in large-field GPP formats and Davis in cash. Pickett has a higher ceiling against Purdue's guards.

Jamal Shead, Houston ($7,200)

Shead hit the game-winner against Memphis on Saturday that most of the country didn't see. CBS cut away to the beginning of the Missouri Valley Championship game and spurned the great finish of Memphis-Houston. Way to fail us there, CBS. At any rate, the groin injury suffered by Marcus Sasser in yesterday's game will likely keep him out. Houston could make a run at a title and it really doesn't matter if they start from the two or three seed. They won't be in Kansas's bracket anyway. I expect Shead to take over the offense with Sasser out and is looking like a great bargain here.

Brandon Newman, Purdue ($4,800)

The ultimate form of DFS roulette is trying to decide which Purdue guard will come up big on any given day. The guard squad as a whole did some growing up in Chicago this week. Newman had a huge game to close out the regular season against Illinois and was instrumental in knocking off the Buckeyes looking for a free ticket yesterday. The Rutgers game was a disaster for all Boilermakers, so we'll let that pass. Newman probably has the highest upside for the price amongst this guard corps.

Also consider: Jalen Pickett, Penn State ($10,100); Wade Taylor IV, Texas A&M ($8,200); Tyrece Radford, Texas A&M ($7,500); Malachi Smith, Dayton ($6,700); Jahvon Quinerly, Alabama ($6,400); Nick Kern, VCU ($4,600)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Zach Edey, Purdue ($11,000)

Edey was an absolute monster yesterday but still didn't outscore Trayce Jackson-Davis. I digress. Edey put up 57 DraftKings points on the Buckeyes, his highest total in over a month. He might be able to do it again. Edey racked up 97.5 DraftKings points in just 65 minutes against Penn State this year. They haven't been able to handle him either. In the game that stayed close, Edey went over 50. I'll entrust my lineups today to Edey over the freshman Miller.

Toumani Camara, Dayton ($8,600)

Camara found himself in perpetual foul trouble down the stretch and limped to the end of the season. He showed up at the A-10 tournament and has stolen the show. He opened with 18 rebounds against St. Joseph's and propelled the Flyers to the championship game with 28 points against Fordham yesterday. Camara terrorized VCU in both games this year, racking up 99.5 DraftKings points in 78 minutes. His ceiling is almost as high as Edey's today.

Brandon Johns, VCU ($5,900)

Johns has five straight games over 20 DraftKings points, including two over 37 in March already. He didn't do much against Dayton in either regular season matchup, but I'll trust his recent hot streak. Johns is an efficient shooter and a bulldog on the glass.

Also consider: DaRon Holmes, Dayton ($9,300); Jarace Walker, Houston ($7,100); Jamir Watkins, VCU ($6,200); Charles Bediako, Alabama ($5,400); Mason Gillis, Purdue ($4,200)
