Tyler Reddick Looking For First Top-10 Finish Of The Season
2 years agoIt's been a rough start to the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season for Tyler Reddick and his new team, 23XI Racing. After crashing out of both the season-opening Daytona 500 as well as the second race of the season at Auto Club Speedway, Reddick now has finishes of 39th, 34th, and 15th to start out the year--significantly worse than most people expected out of this talented driver. That kind of sums up Reddick's career, though, as he has always been a bit of a wildcard and anything but consistent. This weekend at Phoenix, Reddick ended up qualifying 12th for Sunday's United Rentals 500(k)--his best starting spot of the year--and his #45 Toyota looked really strong on the long runs, posting the 2nd-fastest 30-lap average in practice on Friday behind Kyle Larson. Here at Phoenix, Reddick came home 3rd in this race one year ago, although that's his only finish better than 19th in six career Cup Series starts at this track. As usual, it will be boom or bust for him on Sunday at Phoenix.
