Todd Gilliland is racing in this weekend's United Rentals 500(k) Cup Series race, but it's not in his normal ride. It was announced before the 2023 started that Gilliland would be splitting time in his normal #38 Front Row Motorsports Ford with Zane Smith, and this weekend at Phoenix, Smith will be piloting that #38 Ford. Gilliland, on the other hand, will be behind the wheel of the #15 Ford for Rick Ware Racing. This is a downgrade in equipment for Gilliland, and you should expect his performance to decline because of it. Gilliland ranked 34th in overall speed during Friday's practice session at Phoenix and will likely need major attrition during Sunday's race to put together a respectable result.--Jordan McAbee
