The Tennessee Titans had an up-and-down 2022 season. After starting the year with back-to-back losses to the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills, the Titans won seven of their next eight games. While they appeared on their way to another AFC South division title, things quickly changed.
Ryan Tannehill suffered multiple ankle injuries and missed five games last season. Unfortunately, Malik Willis struggled as the starter. In his three starts, the former third-round pick had only 234 passing yards and one rushing touchdown. Meanwhile, he failed to have a passing touchdown while throwing three interceptions.
Despite losing seven straight games to end the year, the Titans had a chance to make the playoffs in Week 18. All it required was a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Tennessee struggled with Joshua Dobbs under center and lost 20-16. The Titans ended the year with a 7-10 record and will have the 11th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

What Are The Tennessee Titans Biggest Needs On Offense?
Tennessee is in a rough spot offensively. Derrick Henry remains one of the top running backs in the NFL. Last season he had over 1,500 rushing yards for the third time in the past four years. However, the superstar running back was the offense for the Titans.
Treylon Burks struggled to stay healthy as a rookie. Meanwhile, Tennessee released Robert Woods after only one year with the team. Despite the lackluster receiving core, the team’s top need is the offensive line.
The Titans recently released longtime left tackle Taylor Lewan. Furthermore, star guard Nate Davis and offensive tackle Dennis Daley are free agents next week. Given the team’s salary cap situation, Davis will likely find a better offer on the open market.
However, there are several talented offensive linemen in this year’s draft. One potential draft target is Paris Johnson Jr. The former Ohio State star left tackle is the top offensive line prospect in the draft. He could step in as a rookie and protect Tannehill’s blindside.
What Are The Tennessee Titans Biggest Needs On Defense?
While the Titans struggled on offense last year, the defense played well. Jeffery Simmons is a superstar in the making and will earn a massive contract extension this offseason. However, the team needs more pass-rush help.
They will release Bud Dupree when the new league year starts next week. Meanwhile, Harold Landry missed last season after he suffered a torn ACL in August. Hopefully, he can return at 100% next season. However, Tennessee must add an edge rusher early in the draft.
One potential target is Noah Smith. The Georgia edge rusher had a massive performance at the NFL Combine last week. He had an impressive 41.5-inch vertical jump while also running a blazing 4.39 40-yard dash. The former Bulldog would be an excellent replacement for Dupree.
