Kyle Harrison Gets Rocked In Second Spring Start
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher prospect Kyle Harrison got lit up in his second start of the spring on Tuesday versus the Cincinnati Reds. After struggling in his first start by allowing three hits on two runs over an inning, Harrison didn't fare better Tuesday afternoon by allowing five runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts. The former third-round pick in 2020, Harrison rapidly climbed the Top-100 board entering 2023. The lefty excelled last season between High-A and Double-A with a 2.71 ERA to go along with 186 strikeouts and 49 walks over 113 innings. With a plus fastball and slider, Harrison's development of his changeup this past season has completed his arsenal. Harrison, 21, is unlikely to break camp with the Giants, but with starting pitchers Anthony DeSclafani, Alex Wood and Sean Manaea all having injury histories and the Giants potentially in a youth movement, Harrison could make his debut in 2023 at some point. For now, he's a name for dynasty managers to consider and redraft managers can ignore him for now.
