9-Category Leagues - Waiver Wire Adds
This column is written based on H2H 9-category 12-team leagues. All players in this article are rostered at around 50 percent or less.
Tyus Jones, G - Memphis Grizzlies - 50% rostered
The argument for Tyus Jones is pretty simple: Ja Morant's been suspended for at least a couple of games and we aren't really sure what his availability looks like beyond that, which opens up potential chances for Jones.
In the first game without Morant, Jones played 36 minutes, finishing with 25 points, 12 assists and five steals while also making five threes and yanking down three boards. He's virtually unplayable in fantasy when Morant's available, and he's a must-play with Morant out. How much you prioritize Jones depends a lot on what you think about Morant, but at the very least, Jones will deliver on Tuesday.
Cam Reddish, F - Portland Trail Blazers - 36% rostered
Reddish has scored in double figures in four straight games, including a big 25-point effort on March 3rd against the Hawks. He made four threes in that game, pushing his streak of games with multiple threes to four. He's also a useful player to roster if you need steals, as he's recorded four of them over the last three games. Anfernee Simons has missed five of the last six games and is already ruled out for Monday's game against the Pistons—as long as he remains out, Reddish is going to continue getting a lot of work for this Trail Blazers squad.
Bruce Brown, G/F - Denver Nuggets - 48% rostered
Brown has scored in double figures in three straight, and he made at least one three-pointer in each of those games. He also had a six-rebound and a seven-rebound game during that span as well.
At this point, Brown's not a super exciting add. He won't win you a week, because there's no category that he excels out at some high rate, but he also won't lose you a week, because aside from assists and a lack of free throw attempts, he gives you some solid contribution in all the other categories. Good player to help raise your floor, even if he doesn't necessarily raise the ceiling.
Delon Wright, G - Washington Wizards - 42% rostered
With Monte Morris dealing with back issues, Delon Wright's getting increased opportunities. He's had five or more assists in three straight games and posted one really great stat line during that span: 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists, six steals, four threes on 60% shooting in a loss to the Raptors.
As long as Morris remains sidelined, Wright should stick in the starting lineup. Sure, this boost in performance could end as soon as Tuesday, but if you have a spot on your roster and Wright's still out there on the wire, grab him, and if you have to drop him, then you have to drop him.
Trey Murphy III, F - New Orleans Pelicans - 50% rostered
Murphy hasn't been super efficient, but he can get you points, threes and steals and he doesn't turn the ball over much. Just like how Bruce Brown was a great add to raise your floor, so is Murphy, with the only real weaknesses being field goal percentage and blocks. You should prioritize Brown, but if you miss out, Murphy's a solid consolation.
Hamidou Diallo, G/F - Detroit Pistons - 19% rostered
Diallo is on a heater right now, scoring in double-digits eight consecutive times. His lack of three-point shooting is an issue—he's made just five of them in 55 games—but if you can afford to lose out on some threes, his field goal percentage and scoring are a nice boost to your fantasy lineup.
Alec Burks, G/F - Detroit Pistons - 20% rostered
Burks missed last game with a foot injury, but he isn't on the injury report for tonight's game against the Trail Blazers, and before the injury Burks had scored in double figures in three of the past four games, plus had at least four rebounds in each of those games. If you need threes, rebounds and some steals, Burks is an option.
