2 years agoAric Almirola is a driver to keep an eye on during Sunday's Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. During the practice session held on Saturday afternoon, Almirola posted the 9th-fastest single lap in the session, and also wound up with the 3rd-best ten-lap average among the 34 cars that participated. Ten-lap average is a much better indicator for race speed compared to single-lap speed. In 19 career starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Aric has just four top 10 finishes, but all four of those have came within his last ten starts. If his practice speed is still there during the actual race on Sunday, Almirola just might add another top 10 finish to his resume at Las Vegas.--Jordan McAbee
