DL Hall Won't Be Ready For Opening Day
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles top pitching prospect DL Hall (back) is unlikely to start out the season in the rotation. Hall has been coping with lower back discomfort and has yet to make his spring training debut. According to the report, Hall has been limited to throwing fastballs in his bullpen sessions but will be cleared to throw all pitches on Monday. The Orioles will slowly ramp things up in hopes to prepare him for the 2023 season. They are unsure what role he will serve, but the plan is at some point to phase Hall into the rotation. In 2022, the 24-year-old displayed a 5.93 ERA across 11 appearances in the majors. In the minor leagues, Hall composed a 4.48 ERA with 137 strikeouts across three separate levels. The O's are prepared to embrace Hall as the future of their rotation, assuming that he stays healthy.
