Cincinnati Bengals right tackle La'El Collins missed most of last season with a back injury, struggled mightily and then ended his season by tearing his ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve. He will turn 30 years old before training camp, and cutting him this offseason would save $6.1 million against the 2023 salary cap with $3.3 million in dead money. If he's cut after June 1, the Bengals would save $7.7 million with just $1.7 million in dead money. Collins was slow to get his "season legs" after his back injury but then injured his knee when he was just finding his footing. The 29-year-old was the team's best run-blocker, but he was pretty bad in pass protection.
