DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/1/23 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

Oscar Tshiebwe daily college fantasy basketball CFB DFS picks March Madness

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 3/1/23. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

The Madness begins now! It is technically March, though we're going to have a hard time topping what happened last Saturday. At any rate, we have a nice 11-game slate today. The Early Bird is a Big East tilt with Xavier visiting Providence. The conventional 7 pm tips give us the Iron Bowl, basketball-style in Tuscaloosa. Vanderbilt heads down to Lexington to take on the Cats, who are looking to solidify their tournament hopes. Maryland heads to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes. We have Pitt heading to Indiana to take on the Irish. DePaul heads to Hartford to take on the Huskies.

An hour later, we have K-State looking for revenge against an Oklahoma team that beat them in Norman two weeks ago. Georgetown visits the Birdcage to take on Creighton. We close this out with three 9 pm tips. LSU hosts Missouri in a battle of Tigers with different stripes. Northwestern tries to get back on track against Penn State in Evanston. We end in Fort Worth with the Longhorns heading up I-35 to take on TCU. This is going to be a fun one to start off March!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/1/23, starting at 6:30 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Markquis Nowell, Kansas State ($9,500)

I will play Nowell in almost any matchup because even if his shots aren't falling, his outstanding peripheral numbers ensure that he still hits value for us. Case in point: Nowell only hit two shots from the floor against Baylor and was scoreless in the first half, but he still tallied 37 DraftKings points. His 34.25 against Oklahoma is his low mark over the last four games, but I'll still take that.

Souley Boum, Xavier ($8,000)

Boum had a couple of rough games right after Zach Freemantle went down, but the Musketeers are starting to adjust to life without him. Boum has scored higher than his season average in three of the last four games, so he's starting to get back to where he was before. The difference is that Boum was routinely the highest-priced guard on the slate in January. Now he's a few steps down the ladder at a price where we can afford him.

Ezra Manjon, Vanderbilt ($6,000)

Manjon had a rough January in which he was removed from the starting lineup. He worked his way back into the starting five early in February and has looked like a different player since. Manjon has played at least 27 minutes in every game and has topped 22 DraftKings points in each of the last six games. He's the kind of consistency that I look for in this price range. Manjon is at his best when he's getting a better volume of shots, but he does enough besides score that he always puts up a good stat line.

Camren Wynter, Penn State ($4,800)

Wynter has proven to be a capable scorer when Penn State gives him enough minutes. He's a guy that needs to get into the flow of a game. It's no coincidence that Wynter has three straight games in which he has reached double figures in scoring – he has played at least 30 minutes in each of those games. Wynter should be a member of the starting five tonight, but if he's not, it's an easy pivot to Honor or Milos Uzan.

Also consider: Bryce Hopkins, Providence ($9,700); Kobe Brown, Missouri (9,000); Umoja Gibson, DePaul ($8,200); Jared Bynum, Providence ($6,300); Tyrese Hunter, Texas ($4,900); Nick Honor, Missouri ($4,800); Otega Oweh, Oklahoma ($4,400); Desmond Claude, Xavier ($4,100); Tre Gomillion, Missouri ($3,800)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky ($10,300)

Tshiebwe had two dreadful games (for him anyway) at the beginning of February, but he is back with five straight games of 30+ DraftKings points. The problem is that we need more than 30 at his price and only two of them have gone for more than 37. For cash games, you likely need to anchor with Tshibwe. He's no longer a must for GPP formats, but after what he did in the domination of Auburn on Saturday, he showed that the immense upside is still there.

Nick Ongenda, DePaul ($7,400)

I usually don't use much of anyone against UConn, but Ongenda is going to be the exception. He has at least 27 DraftKings points in all four games that he has played this year and is averaging 35.1 DraftKings points per game. He's probably not going to hit that mark against UConn, but his price is low enough that it doesn't matter. Even if Ongenda comes in below that 27.5 mark, he will likely still hit value. There's a lot of wiggle room here with the price this low.

Jerome Hunter, Xavier ($6,400)

Hunter has filled in nicely for Freemantle. He's not the rim protector that Freemantle is, but Hunter has scored in double figures in four straight games and has averaged seven rebounds per game in that span. Hunter isn't going to break a slate, but he's not going to drag your lineup down either. He has at least 20 DraftKings points per game in that span as well. That's a good, consistent return.

Ven-Allen Lubin, Notre Dame ($4,500)

Lubin was an absolute disaster against Virginia and a foul-riddled mess against North Carolina, but he came up huge against Wake over the weekend with 36.5 DraftKings points, a season-high. The Irish seem content to let Lubin continue to play a large role down the stretch. The upside he showed against Wake is why we'll fly with him in GPP formats. No one else in this range can break 30.

Also consider: Liam Robbins, Vanderbilt ($9,800); Adama Sanogo, Connecticut ($8,700); Ed Croswell, Providence ($8,200); Jacob Toppin, Kentucky ($7,800); Justice Sueing, Ohio State ($6,500); Federiko Federiko, Pittsburgh ($6,000); Matthew Nicholson, Northwestern ($4,700); Bradley Ezewiro, Georgetown ($3,700)
