Logan Webb Scuffles In Spring Debut Monday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb looked rusty in his first spring appearance in Monday's 8-6 win over the Angels. Webb pitched 2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits (including a two-run home run) and no walks with a strikeout. This is not all that concerning, as the 26-year-old was making his first appearance with the new rules. Webb had a solid 2022 season, going 15-9 with a 2.90 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 20.7% strikeout rate. It is worth noting that he did see a drop in strikeout rate and relies heavily on ground balls, which could be impacted by the new shift restrictions. Regardless, Webb should serve as a high-floor, higher-end fantasy starter and currently has a reasonable draft position as the 44th pitcher off the board.
