Martin Truex Jr. Trying To Turn Clock Back At Fontana
2 years agoWhile Martin Truex Jr. produced another solid result at Daytona, that was not good enough for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. Truex Jr. ended up 15th despite getting to the front a couple times on Sunday (13 laps led). Late in the race proved more challenging. The same happened at Fontana last season. What did the Toyota's learn is the question? Truex Jr. won at Fontana at 2018 (led 125 laps) and has five straight top-15 results. While the No. 19 driver figures not to lead over 100 laps, do not be surprised if Truex Jr. is running near the front later in this race (he starts 14th). If he stays out of trouble late, anything is possible.
