Kole Calhoun Signs Minor-League Deal With Mariners
2 years agoFree-agent outfielder Kole Calhoun signed a minor-league deal with the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, pending a physical. Calhoun has already reported to big-league spring training with the team and will try to impress the coaching staff during Cactus League games. The 35-year-old veteran left-handed hitter spent the 2022 season with the Texas Rangers and slashed just .196/.257/.330 with a .587 OPS, 12 home runs, 49 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases in 424 plate appearances and 125 games. Calhoun was never much of an impact bat for fantasy managers, even during his prime with the Los Angeles Angels, and he'll strictly serve as outfield depth for a rising Mariners organization.
