The 2022 season was one to forget for the Indianapolis Colts. After trading for Matt Ryan last offseason, the Colts benched the quarterback twice during the year. Furthermore, they will release him this offseason.
However, the team’s struggles didn’t stop there. Indianapolis fired multiple coaches during the year and replaced Frank Reich with former ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday. Despite the team’s high expectations entering the season, the Colts were awful in 2022.
Indianapolis lost 10 of their 11 final games to end the regular season. After going 4-12-1 in 2022, the Colts will have the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

What Are The Indianapolis Colts Biggest Needs On Offense?
The Colts have had a different opening-day starting quarterback for the past five years. They have failed to find a franchise quarterback since Andrew Luck retired in 2019. After years of trading for veteran quarterbacks, many expect Indianapolis to draft one with the fourth overall pick.
They could trade with the Chicago Bears for the No. 1 overall pick. That would allow them to draft Bryce Young. However, the Colts might move up for a different quarterback. Reportedly, Indianapolis is a big fan of Will Levis.
Levis had a solid career during his time at Kentucky. In his two years with the Wild Cats, the quarterback had over 5,200 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. Furthermore, he added another 11 touchdowns on the ground.
While Levis is the most polarizing quarterback in the draft this year, it seems likely that he will become a Colt.
What Are The Indianapolis Colts Biggest Needs On Defense?
Indianapolis has invested multiple draft picks on the defense over the past few years. While their unit is one of the better groups in the NFL, the Colts have a massive hole on defense this offseason.
Linebacker Bobby Okereke is a free agent next month. After the team invested nearly $100 million in Shaquille Leonard, the Colts aren’t likely to bring back Okereke this offseason. Furthermore, E.J. Speed will also be a free agent in a few weeks.
One potential draft target is Drew Sanders. The Arkansas linebacker will likely be a late first-round or early second-round pick. He had an outstanding 2022 season, with 103 tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, and 9.5 sacks.
If he is still available when the Colts are up to pick in the second round, Sanders would be a slam-dunk selection.
