Giants To Be Cautious With Michael Conforto This Spring
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants are expected to be cautious with newly-signed outfielder Michael Conforto this spring, likely playing him as designated hitter for the first two weeks of Cactus League games as he continues to rebuild his throwing arm strength. The 29-year-old missed the entire 2022 season while recovering from shoulder surgery. However, he said his shoulder feels good and the team is hoping to have him ready to start the regular season in the outfield. Conforto presents an interesting fantasy case, as he had several consecutive seasons where he hit at least 27 home runs but had a disappointing 2021 season, which is the last time fantasy managers saw him play. He has a lot to prove, but he could certainly become fantasy relevant again if he is healthy.
