San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel was rumored to be a trade candidate last offseason, but eventually signed a three-year $71.55 million deal to stay with Kyle Shanahan's team.
However, there are some rumblings surrounding a Samuel trade once again now that the 2022 season has concluded, so we're here to examine the facts available.
How did Samuel play in 2022 and will he be traded this offseason? Let's find out.

Deebo Samuel 2022 Season Recap
In 13 games played, Samuel caught 56 of his 94 targets for 632 and two touchdowns. On the ground, he logged 42 rushes for 332 yards and three scores. Ultimately, his counting snaps dropped dramatically from 2021.
In just three fewer games, Samuel racked up 906 fewer yards from scrimmage and nine fewer touchdowns, falling well short of his fantasy production from his breakout season a year ago. However, Christian McCaffrey's arrival in San Francisco surely played a big role in his usage and efficiency decline.
Samuel still finished as the WR38 so he'll continue to be on the fantasy radar, but with McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle sharing the same field, it's hard to expect another high-end WR1 season. If Trey Lance starts in 2023, he could also take some of Samuel's rushing work and red zone touchdowns.
Will Deebo Samuel Get Traded in the Offseason?
According to Sports Illustrated senior NFL reporter Albert Breer, the 49ers have no plans on dealing wide receiver Deebo Samuel. There were rumors that the wideout could be on the move, but Breer put them to rest.
The early part of the NFL offseason can be quiet, so there will be plenty of trade rumors with little to nothing backing them up. If there is real buzz surrounding a trade, we will cover it, but we're also here to clear up the rumors that have no merit.
An unexpected blockbuster trade could come at any point, but it looks like Samuel will not be the one involved.
