The Las Vegas Raiders made the playoffs in 2021 despite a year full of distractions. Following the season, the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels as their new head coach.
Las Vegas then made a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers, trading for wide receiver Davante Adams. After years of not having enough receiving help, the Raiders finally gave Derek Carr a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver.
Unfortunately, the 2022 season didn’t go according to plan for Las Vegas. While many picked them to make the playoffs, the Raiders finished third in the AFC West and ended the year with a 6-11 record.

What Are The Las Vegas Raiders Biggest Needs On Offense?
The Raiders have a massive hole at quarterback after releasing Carr on Tuesday. Las Vegas benched their franchise quarterback with a few games left last season. While the two sides tried to work out a potential trade, the Raiders released Carr earlier this week before his roster bonus was due. That move leaves the team with a massive decision to make at quarterback.
Reportedly, Las Vegas are the favorites to land Aaron Rodgers if he becomes available in a trade. However, another potential option at quarterback is Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud. The Raiders have the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. While the former Ohio State star won’t make it to them at that pick, Las Vegas could easily move up and draft Stroud.
What Are The Las Vegas Raiders Biggest Needs On Defense?
Last year the Raiders had a solid defense under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham’s leadership. Unfortunately, they have several upcoming free agents on defense. Furthermore, Las Vegas has six starters set to hit the open market next month, including a pair of cornerbacks.
Even if the Raiders re-sign Rock Ya-Sin, they need to improve their cornerback unit. Luckily for them, this year’s draft class is loaded at the position. One potential target is Mississippi’s Emmanuel Forbes. He had six interceptions returned for a touchdown in his college career.
Forbes will be either a late first-round or early second-round pick in April. If he is available in the second round, Forbes would be an excellent pick for the Raiders.
