Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes powered through the playoffs to become a Super Bowl champion, NFL MVP, and Super Bowl MVP all while battling through an ankle injury.
Mahomes was the top quarterback in fantasy football this season and added to his impressive list of accolades at just age 27.
The MVP first suffered the high-ankle sprain in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round, aggravating it again just before halftime of the Super Bowl. Will Mahomes be ready by training camp?

Patrick Mahomes Injury News
Mahomes was in clear pain just before halftime as he re-injured the ankle that caused him to miss time in the divisional round.
He was asked about the status of his ankle and responded that he would “worry about that in the off-season.”
While the status of his ankle is currently unknown after battling through the injury for the past few weeks, Mahomes will get some well-deserved rest and healing time in the coming weeks.
Will Patrick Mahomes Be Ready By Training Camp?
If there were a regular season game next week, it seems unlikely that Mahomes would play in it.
The ankle “will affect his golf game this offseason” but given the long window to recover it will likely be fully healed by training camp.
The status of Mahomes’ recovery will be worth monitoring throughout the offseason, but do not go expecting the issue to linger into next season.
