Jesse Winker "Feeling Strong" For 2023
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Jesse Winker (knee, spine) said Tuesday that he is "feeling strong" and "healthy" entering the 2023 season, per MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. This is encouraging, as Winker went through two offseason surgeries, one to repair the meniscus in his left knee and one to replace a disc in his spine. The 29-year-old said that he will defer to the medical staff as to when he can start participating in spring training, but the goal is to be ready for Opening Day. Despite dealing with injuries throughout his career and a disappointing 2022 season, Winker flashed his fantasy potential in 2021, when he hit 24 home runs in 485 plate appearances. Currently being drafted at pick 279, Winker could be a fantasy steal if he can stay on the field this season.
