The Jacksonville Jaguars have been the laughingstock of the NFL for the past several years. However, that changed in 2022.

Jacksonville won the AFC South division for the first time since 2017 and only the second time since the creation of the division in 2002. After an awful rookie season with Urban Meyer on the sidelines, Trevor Lawrence had an excellent 2022 season.

While the Jaguars made several changes last offseason, the most important was the hiring of Doug Pederson. The former Super Bowl-winning head coach brought a professional and winning attitude to the team.

What Are The Jacksonville Jaguars Biggest Needs On Offense?

Last year the Jaguars had to improve the receiving core. They spent massive money in free agency to sign Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram. However, Jacksonville didn’t stop there. They made a midseason trade with the Atlanta Falcons to acquire Calvin Ridley.

Once Ridley returns from suspension, Jacksonville might have the best-receiving core in franchise history. However, Engram is a free agent this offseason. The veteran tight end might find a better offer on the open market coming off a career year in 2022.

If the Jaguars don't re-sign Engram, Dalton Kincaid would be an excellent replacement. The former Utah tight end made several impressive catches during his college career.

What Are The Jacksonville Jaguars Biggest Needs On Defense?

Jacksonville is in an unfamiliar spot when it comes to the NFL Draft. The Jaguars had the No. 1 pick in back-to-back drafts, selecting Lawrence in 2021 and Travon Walker in 2022. This year, they won’t pick until the end of the first round.

While some fans weren’t happy with the selection last year, Walker had a solid rookie season. However, Jacksonville still needs help at edge rusher.

Dawuane Smoot and Arden Key combined for 9.5 sacks last year. Unfortunately, both are free agents in March and likely won’t return, given the team’s salary cap situation. Furthermore, Josh Allen is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

One potential first-round draft target is Myles Murphy. The Clemson star had 36 tackles for a loss and 18.5 sacks in his three-year college career. More importantly, he flashed elite pass-rushing skills. Murphy’s ability to turn speed into power is outstanding.
