Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been with the team since 2019. During his four years with the Titans, the veteran quarterback has never had a losing season as the starter.
However, the former Texas A&M quarterback will turn 35 years old in the offseason. More importantly, he is coming off the worst year of his Tennessee career.
The Titans head into the offseason with several decisions to make, including the future of the starting quarterback.

Will Ryan Tannehill Be Released By The Titans?
Tannehill is entering the final year of his contract. Unfortunately, his cap hit is over $36 million in 2023. However, Tennessee can save nearly $18 million in salary cap space by releasing or trading the veteran.
While some have speculated that the Titans will move on from the quarterback, there haven’t been any reports saying the move is coming. However, Tennessee has to realize by now that Tannehill won’t win them a Super Bowl. Furthermore, they drafted Malik Willis last year. The Titans could give the younger and more mobile quarterback a shot at starting next season.
Which Teams Could Sign Ryan Tannehill This Offseason?
The Jets are in the market for a veteran quarterback this offseason. While the team claims they haven’t given up on Zach Wilson, they want to bring in a veteran to take over as the starter in the short run.
If the Titans move on from Tannehill, expect the New York Jets to be interested in landing the veteran quarterback. Reportedly the Jets are interested in Tannehill.
Recently, New York hired former Tennessee offensive coordinator Todd Downing as their passing-game coordinator. The history between Downing and Tannehill could be the deciding factor for the quarterback if he is released this offseason.
Another potential landing spot for Tannehill is the Carolina Panthers. Last year they were 7-10 despite their awful start to the season and quarterback situation. The team recently hired Frank Reich as their new head coach. Reich spent the past few years facing Tannehill twice a year as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
Sam Darnold is a free agent this offseason, and the team reportedly wants to explore free agent options. If they don’t land Derek Carr, Tannehill could be a solid fallback plan for the Panthers.
