Jasson Dominguez Likely To Spend Another Year In Minors
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez was invited to big-league spring training this year, but he just turned 20 years old and likely has at least one more year in the minors before he makes his major-league debut. However, the Yankees think he has the potential to be a cornerstone player when he eventually makes it to the Bronx. Dominguez was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 2 prospect last year, behind only shortstop Anthony Volpe. He hit a combined .273/.376/.461 with 16 home runs and 37 stolen bases in 120 games with Low-A Tampa, High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2022. Dominguez has high-end potential, but he has plenty of maturing to do and needs to improve his defense.
