Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr visited with the New Orleans Saints late last week as the Raiders and Saints agreed to trade terms, the 31-year-old halted the process of the deal. Carr could agree to the trade, allowing Las Vegas to get back some assets in return, but there's uncertainty on whether he's willing to do that.
In 142 starts over nine years, Carr has passed for 35,222 yards, 217 touchdowns, and 91 interceptions. However, he's failed to win a playoff game on just one playoff start and has an overall win-loss record of 63-79. Carr is far removed from the front office and the head coach that drafted him, so with minimal success over almost a decade of starts, a change of scenery could be in order. Since the trade hasn't gone through and Carr will see a $40 million bonus if he's on the Raiders' roster by February 15, he could be released very soon.
Will Carr be released by the Raiders? Who are potential suitors for the 31-year-old signal caller? Let's find out.

Will the Raiders Release Derek Carr?
Carr has a no-trade clause in his contract and has decided to reject a trade to the New Orleans Saints. Instead, the veteran quarterback is expected to be released, which will allow him to pick his own team. This doesn't rule out the Saints acquiring Carr during free agency.
Carr is in no place to do the Raiders any favors after they benched him. That said, he appears to be set to hit free agency where he'll be one of the bigger names on the market.
Which Team Will Sign Carr this Offseason?
The Jets have talented pass-catchers, solid running backs, and a great defense, and were seemingly a quarterback away from being a playoff team in 2022. It's unknown whether the team has given up on Zach Wilson, but they fired offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and replaced him with former Denver Broncos head coach, Nathaniel Hackett. However, there is a lot of buzz surrounding a potential trade for Aaron Rodgers.
The Saints are coached by Dennis Allen, who was the Raiders head man when the team selected Carr in the 2014 NFL Draft in the second round. New Orleans also has a young stud rookie wideout in Chris Olave, so it could be an attractive spot for Carr, too.
The Colts have already tried this experiment with Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, and Matt Ryan and are in a position to take one of the top rookies in the 2023 NFL Draft. It would be surprising if they made a move for Carr. Carolina has also tried trading for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield in recent years and they have a draft pick high enough to target a rookie.
Some wild cards to land Carr are the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and Houston Texans, but the Jets and Saints feel like the most likely landing spots, with the Saints having a slight edge.
