Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has put together an excellent career. Despite being an undrafted free agent in 2014, the former Minnesota State star has totaled over 6,600 receiving yards and 55 touchdowns during his nine years in the NFL.
Over the first two years of his career, Thielen had only 20 receptions on 31 targets for 281 receiving yards and one touchdown. However, the veteran receiver had totaled at least 700 receiving yards in six of the past seven seasons. The one year Thielen failed to reach 700 yards was in 2019, when he battled injuries all season.
In 2017, the veteran receiver had a career year with 91 receptions and 1,276 receiving yards. Thielen improved on those numbers next year, totaling 113 receptions on 153 targets for 1,373 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. More importantly, the veteran has 30 receiving touchdowns over the past three years.

Will Adam Thielen Be Released By The Vikings?
Unfortunately, Thielen’s production has declined over the past few years. After a career-high 14 receiving touchdowns in 2020, the veteran has 16 touchdowns over the past two years. Furthermore, the former Minnesota State star hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2018.
Meanwhile, the Vikings are in a tough spot with the salary cap. There are rumors that Minnesota could release the veteran receiver this offseason in a salary cap-saving move. However, Thielen hopes to end his career with the Vikings.
Which Teams Could Sign Adam Thielen This Offseason?
Hopefully, the veteran receiver can finish his career in Minnesota. Reportedly Thielen and the team are working through some stuff with his contract. The former undrafted free agent will count for nearly $20 million against the salary cap next year. Furthermore, his $11.8 million base salary is due March 19.
Unfortunately, the NFL stands for not for long. If the two sides can’t work out a restructured contract, Thielen likely has played his final down for the Vikings.
Despite turning 33 years old before the start of the 2023 season, the veteran receiver can still contribute. If he hits the open market, Thielen will have plenty of suitors.
One potential landing spot is the Buffalo Bills. Thielen has played with Stefon Diggs during their time together in Minnesota. More importantly, the veteran would give Josh Allen another reliable pass catcher.
