Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is headed to his third Super Bowl in just five seasons as a starter, but once again, he carries an injury into the big game. Mahomes looked great in the AFC Championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but there is always a chance of a setback, so we'll have to stay updated as DFS enthusiasts and NFL fans.
Mahomes will face the fiercest pass rush in the NFL, so if his mobility is limited, it could certainly affect his upside, and his team's chances to win.
Is Mahomes healthy or injured and what is his DFS outlook for Super Bowl 57? Let's get to it.

Patrick Mahomes Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Mahomes (ankle) said he didn't aggravate his right high-ankle sprain in the AFC Championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals and just experienced general soreness from a physical game. "Other than that, I'm in a good spot," Mahomes said. He was somehow able to practice in full all week leading up to the game against Cincy, so there's no concern he'll be unavailable for the big game.
The 27-year-old certainly wasn't 100% last weekend, but he did enough to lead the Chiefs to a win by going 29-for-43 for 326 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Mahomes should be in better shape for the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his mobility probably will continue to be hindered.
Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl Fantasy Football Outlook
Those who faded Mahomes due to injury concerns against the Bengals surely regretted it, and even though he'll face one of the league's top pass rushes and passing defense, you can never count out the former league MVP. The recipe is probably simple here for DFS contests.
You either need to build a Mahomes stack or a Jalen Hurts stack. Mahomes is $11,000 on DraftKings, while Hurts is $11,200. Ultimately, we know Mahomes is unrivaled as a passer, but Hurts can make up for it with his rushing upside. While Mahomes is set to face the No. 1 defense in DraftKings points allowed to quarterbacks, there's little doubt he can overcome any matchup. That said, Hurts is just marginally more expensive, and faces the No. 28 defense in DraftKings points allowed.
Since DraftKings adds bonuses for eclipsing 300 yards passing, they have similar upsides in this Super Bowl heavyweight battle. There's no wrong answer for which team to build a DFS lineup primarily from, but don't let matchup stats cause you to fade the best quarterback in the NFL.
