The 2022 college football season was full of excitement. However, the surprise team of the year was the TCU Horned Frogs.
While Max Duggan deserves plenty of credit for the team’s success this year, TCU wouldn’t have made the College Football Playoffs without wide receiver Quentin Johnston.
The superstar receiver had an excellent college career, highlighted by a career year in 2022.

What Did Quentin Johnston Do In His College Career?
Johnston played a massive role in TCU’s offense this past year. He led the team in receptions (60), receiving yards (1,069), and receiving touchdowns (six). More importantly, ESPN’s Todd McShay believes Johnston has the best chance of any wide receiver to get drafted in the top 10 this year.
Not only did the star lead the team in every receiving category last season, but he was far and away the best wide receiver on the roster. Johnston had 18 more receptions and 456 more receiving yards than any other player on the team in 2022.
Which Team Could Pick Quentin Johnston In The 2023 NFL Draft?
The TCU star will likely be a first-round pick. Several teams could select a wide receiver in the first round this year.
However, most of those teams have a pick in the bottom third of the round. The Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Buffalo Bills are all potential wide receiver needy teams picking in the 20s.
Of the group, Johnston has most often been linked to the Ravens. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has the TCU receiver heading to Baltimore in his latest mock draft.
While the future of Lamar Jackson is the team’s top priority this offseason, the Ravens have other needs on the roster. At the top of that list is wide receiver help.
Rashod Bateman had a solid 2022 season before suffering a season-ending foot injury. Unfortunately, that left the team with Devin Duvernay, Demarcus Robinson, and DeSean Jackson leading the wide receiver unit. Furthermore, Mark Andrews was the only player on the team with over 460 receiving yards this season.
Baltimore traded Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals during the 2022 NFL Draft. However, they didn’t add a wide receiver to replace the former Oklahoma star. After struggling with injuries at the position this past year, adding a wide receiver like Johnston early in the draft is a must for the Ravens.
