Corey Davis Could Be A Cap Casualty This Offseason?
2 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis could be a cap casualty this offseason. The Jets are projected to be over the cap and have some difficult decisions to cut critical players to save money. According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, people in and around the Jets are operating under the assumption that Davis will be a cap casualty. The Jets could save $10.5 million with a minimal penalty if the team releases Davis. The 28-year-old has missed 12 games over the last two seasons due to injuries. He caught 32 passes for 536 yards and two touchdowns over 13 games in 2022. Davis could provide wide receiver depth and be a solid addition in the right offense if he is a cap casualty this offseason.
